very nicely done. I don't think the model being so thin takes away from the photo..i felt it kind of added to it in a lot of ways...it wouldn't be the same shot at all if you had a different model in there.

I think its pretty cool I can imagine her in a grotesque undead world or something, definitely will use it as reference one day.
if anyone really starts to think we need to look like that I dont care. I dont start a diet when I look at a skull. people should hate on diets and woman magazines, not on this photography

This is a great photo. The whole slim should be/shouldn't be is such a cliche argument and completely besides the point. I think the composition is perfect; from the color, grain to her expression, pose and body, and if she looked any different, the photo would not be nearly as captivating or as powerful as it is. I love it, especially her eyes. Magnificent.

I've seen this shot now featured in Eastern Europe- I thought it looked familiar.
It's been used to demonstrate in magazines the issues with models and anorexia as a problem in changing the standards we program for young women.
Outside of the that whole issue, it is a cool photograph.
Of course she is too thin- she's like a POW from a concentration camp with her clothes off.
But isn't that why the photograph exists for the most part?
Otherwise it would just be another shot of another model in B&W...
Her condition makes it interesting, real and a statement-
and stunning in it's message.

what a beautiful shot, just breath-taking. I get the impression that this shot is meant to raise questions about body image, not support overly-thin models. If this is the case, good on you, as the commens exemplify how provokative this shot has been. I think the photographer is presenting a situation, and asking the viewer to think about it, not given an opinon themselves. Also, I don't think it is fair to assume that this model has an eating disorder!
