Description
Ok forgive the humm, dull title. Usually when I finish a piece, the name just jumps out at me within a matter of seconds and always seems to click.Anyway I know there are a few mistakes in this picture but I doscourage critique for two reasons. 1 already know where the mistakes are and the reason im uploading is because otherwise they will drive me insane to the point of doing something about it and I just want to consider it finished and two it was a result of a two hour free draw that I didnt expect to go ANYWHERE, so the fact that it came even this far stunned even me(especially in the short amount of time)
Alrighty now for the formal description. After my last project involving a panther I had dozens of pictures of black panthers sitting on my comp that I studied to get the anatomy and fur of the panther for the commission right. So I was rather bored and looking at them again and something random struck me. I was suddenly amazed by just how light can play off of a black panther's coat and based on the surrounding light make them appear less than black. A few photos I had really showed off the spots of a black panther when lighting hits them and what for whatever reason I found even more amazing was the almost greenish hue their coats and still carry a silverish sheen on top of that hue! The spots show through very well too! So I decided to experiment for myself with the idea. I rather like how it turned out too!
Edit: Yes I did use a reference for the initial concept, specifically for the intense expression
Prints: Yes, 8x10 10$US, plus shipping. Print will not be watermarked.
Sorry folks, I never wanted to watermark my work, but my hand was twisted. This is my income and when people steal my work, they steal food from my mouth.

Balaa, you are just the best!
I this drawing to pieces! You did a fantastic job on the fur and the eye... it immediately made me fall in awe! Ah I wish I'd have the money and could buy a print of this. By the way do you still offer 8.5x11 prints for $10? Just wondered.
Oh just wanted to let you know, I am working on a huge project recently (it's going to be a white lioness with super cool green eyes). I really wish to thank you for your kind words and for giving me the inspiration I need.
*sends a big hug to you*
of course my dear!

I love this one - itβs a picture in my long reel that makes up my screen saver. Is this not a re submission?

apparantly everytime you submit a piece to become a print, it automatically is resubmitted once the print is accepted. Go figure. . I should update this piece, however, since before making it a print I did a little work on it...most specifically the eye.

You need to do a tutorial on how you paint in Photoshop. This would be time consuming but how would you feel if I payed you? (Donβt get your hopes up its just a thought but If your sure you could produce a good quality, in-depth tutorial I could pay you $50.00 Aus dollars)
Im guessing your American (I donβt know were The Capitol of Rain and slugs is) so $50.00 Aus is about $37.00 US - your thoughts.
P.S I hope my time here at DA may some day in the future (when im at your standard of art) will hold a collaboration of some sort between you and I. you da bomb

I have kept your previous comment in my inbox because I meant to get back to you, but everytime I turned around something else came up. Anyway..at present with as many pieces as I have to do, I really don't have time to do a truly indepth tutorial. IF you are looking for good tutorials, my deviant journal has a link to a previous journal with a bunch of good tutorials on fur. MOST of these I recommend highly because I myself used them and still do from time to time. They are probably better than I could do since I am rather poor at describing how I do things . I have been asked to do a tutorial on eyes so when things die down a bit I miiight just do that
...but in the meantime, please bare with me.
Thank you, as always, for the kind generous comments!

That's absolutely gorgeous- If I were you (which I'm not I know- and you could've had bad experiences in the past but...) I wouldn't worry about harsh critiques, your art is amazing and I don't think there are very many sane people out there who would bash it
Stunning work, as always
