Description
This is a painting done on a 36x24inch canvas board in acrylic paint. Done about 1 year ago and finally photographed with a digital camera this painting depicts a portion of my daily scenery. This old truck has been rusting in a field by our house for some time. Taking a walk one morning I noticed how the sun reflected off the car and something struck me about the scene. It just seemed so serene and quiet that I just had to paint it. So here it is. The only thing I am displeased about is the sky, I ran out of the right shade of blue so had to mix it with a variant of cobalt blue. It did not come out quite as I intended but I still am overall satisfied with this piece.Related content

The two shades of blue really do give the sky a highly realistic look. One would almost think this was a photograph with the high quality of artwork here.

that looks like where i used to live, with a toyota truck in the front, in a tall grass.....i miss it.....when i had dogs and a huge house, and 5 acres to run around with my dogs, and have fun.....now i live in a "neighborhood" who lives in those?! hahaaha!

I was just browsen' through your gallery and saw this. I couldn't resist faving it! It's beautifull. I've been getting more and more curious with traditional art lately. I'm horrible at it.

I actually started with traditional..paints taste good..I mean are great to work with. I was always too impatient for oils so I stuck with acrylics..If you get into them, look up liquitex paints..the best by far, although Ive heard a lot of good things about chromacolors too..but thus far I'm a liquitex gal

When I started drawing it was always simple pencil-notebook sketches. Untill I found out about DA, then I started getting into digital painting.

At first sight I could have sworn that thios was a photo. Now, when I have looked closer to it, and the cathegory in which it was submitted, I see that it indeed is a painting. It is amazinly well-done, and I have to agree with you. There is something serene about the piece, but not something one would see every day. There are some wonderful details in this picture, and you have really payed attention to the small chnages in the landscape. It is a pity that you ran out of the right shade of blue, but when I am looking at it, it still seems to be a nice sky. Of curse, I did not see the original blue color of the sky, as you did, but I can ensure you, the picture is still a masterpiece!
