The title just came to mind and for some reason just seemed right for this picture.This is my first time attempting to render snow leopards so I can almost guarantee there are small flaws here and there. Mostly this picture was colored as a spur of the moment type thing. I wanted to try my hand at snow leopards as Ive never really drawn them, muchless tried to color them! It turns out their fur is trickier to render than I thought! It took me a few failures to finally get a decent grasp of how to render the fur. All in all this experiment turned out rather nicely. The background actually came together easiest of all. I probably spent in the neighborhood of an hour on the bg itself but far more on the leopards themselves. The male(above) is supposed to be sort of squinting, ie eyes not all the way open (because yes usually snow leopards eyes are rather big..which I like!)
I hope to have an excuse in the very near future to play with these critters in ps some more! I really enjoyed this piece and so in turn I hope you all do as well.

Almost, just right on the edge, of being the most realistic picture I've seen in some time. Full sizing brings out "work" much more than the normal small view... Both are completely astounding. This is a very pretty one, full of feeling, and super sharp!

Whoa...from the thumbnail, this looked exactly like one of *guitarjohnny 's photos. I love the fur texturing, their expressions, and even the attention you paid to the background. Nice work.

It's a small world, after all: When I visited his page, this picture was on his RANDOM Favourites list. Apparently he was seventh to favourite it.
[link] reminds me particularly of this picture, but all of his stuff seems to match all of yours...mostly in the focus on faces and expressions, and the attention to very selective focus and detail.

OMG I love snow leopards!!! Wow I almost wanna reach out and pet them (theyd probably bit my hand off). You put my work to shame. The only flaw I could possibable notice (which isn't that big a deal) is the male has a more of a tiger face, but hey it's still a big cat and they look so real. Fantastic Job look at me criticing I am not that great myself you should see my galery and put your two cents in I could us it. Just be nice lol.

I really like the dream-like expression of the male, and the more curious of the female.
You are right, the title is perfect for this picture and makes one think beyound the picture itself, but rather what have happened to these animals before, what are they thinking, and what will happen to them in the fture?
The fur is absolutely gorgeously rendered and it really gives one the impression of soft, thick fur.

Great picture. The only thing is, that the face or your kitties is looking a bit more like a jaguar, than a snow leopard. Snow leopards are having a slightly rounder face with smaller flews and everything is a bit more delicate.
But I love your picture nevertheless and I'm currently having it as a wallpaper. It's like a point of rest here in this buzzing office. It really calms me down, when people are getting too annoying.

My gosh, you just keep amazing me with every new piece you upload. You've definately become one of my favourite artists here! This is absolutely stunning. You are marvellous at big cats - you really capture their beauty and majesty. The background, the fur texture.. it's all quite simply amazing. I especially love the use of purple and blue tones in their fur, too. And the way the light falls on them is perfect - it's very natural, just as you'd imagine it to look if someone had taken a photo.
I can't find the words to say just how beautiful this is, so I'll just favourite and keep staring. Lovely work, as per usual! I'd love to see more snow leopards!

Absolutely beautiful. The lighting is marvelous (the male snow leopard's leg looks almost like it was from a photgraph), and the texturing is amazing.
