Yeah the movie aesthetic was really hit and miss. I didn't like Lazerbeak's "bug eyed, chick" look. I think they were going for disturbing, but it ended up looking ridiculous... at least to me it did.

yeah I agree I can understand why they did it and the look kinda made the whole talking thing work however these just look the part

They're all good, but I'm torn between the first and third. The first is just so cold and alien. The third has a lot of personality, but also really looks a lot like one of the concept art versions, which takes away some of the uniqueness it has.
Can't wait to see this finished!

Yeah, you should definitely use that one. Maybe build a bit on it, but keep the all red eyes, I love how menacing they are.

Yeah I like the eyes too, defiantly wasn't a fan of the bulging 'new born chick eyes' they used in the movie. Any suggestions as to how I should build on it?

Hrmn. For starters, you could change the neck. There are too many plates, and it doesn't look like something an aero-dynamic being should have. Something like the neck of the third concept would be a better choice, though without the spines sticking out in the front, seems like a bit of an unnecessary detail.
Don't know what to say about the head itself, though. The shape of it and the eyes work really well, but something about the details of it says less 'updated Transformer' and more 'generic alien design', to me at least. Don't know how you could improve that.

All of the heads look marveolus to me
especially the second one in between the other two heads is my favourite out of them. I really love how you can easily figure out how to draw things robotically. His beak is a really nice example of it!

I generally liked the design, except the bulging eyes. It made him look like a newly hatched chick and not really all that threatening...and a bit stupid.

yeah and the cannons slung under them, they recoiled so hard he almost fell out of the air, and he couldn't aim them at all, very funny.
