Description
My good friends =ChaosFay and ~Feeriee13 both recently sent me new materials to wire wrap with. The central stones are raw emeralds--the only real emeralds I have ever seen outside of a display case. I'm not sure what the stone beads are, but they matched perfectly. The wire is gold. This is actually the first new pendant I've wire wrapped in many months that wasn't a trade or commission item. Maybe in over a year. A Christmas gift for my partner.

Beautiful. Gold wire and green gems always go so well together. This one, in the thumbnail before I clicked to open it, looked to me like eggs in a basket, nestled in safely. With it open, I love the 'horn' curved over the top, and the wider wrapping under the turquoise-coloured round bead looks like a leaf.
Happy New Year! I hope your holidays were safe, happy, and healthy. *hugs*

I've gotten "eggs in a basket" before with another piece. I must have some kind of nesting nature heheh. Thank you for enjoying it, and Happy New Year to you as well!

Oh my goodness, b e a u t i f u l! I think it's hard wrapping raw gems that aren't drilled without over doing it with too much wire, yet your pendant looks so airy! Shawn is so lucky. Was it a surprise, or he knew you were making it for him?

It would've been much harder to keep it light and airy if the stones were larger. Thankfully everything you sent me is conducive to this sort of work. A lot of stones are impossible to wrap without having a tighter construction. It was a last minute surprise. He gravitated to the emeralds when I was showing him everything you sent me, so I made it on Christmas Eve, lol.

Yeah, most of the stones I have are either really small ( good for earrings ) or too large to work with. So one day I took a hammer, broke the large ones into smaller pieces and voila: now we can wrap them!
)) Sorry about the sharp edges
Not the emeralds or the rubies, of course ~ I wish I was that strong. So his Christmas present was custom made on Christmas Eve - very nice! The privilege of living with a jewelry artist...

That's funny, it didn't occur to me they'd been broken. I can't believe I never thought of doing that with any of mine. No worries on the sharp edges. I can wrap anything, even glass.

If you do it, don't do it indoors ~ a week later I was still picking up small rock fragments off my carpet ) I wish I was that good at wrapping, still have so much to learn. I have to make two pendants for kids/boys today, no idea where to start ~ I've never made pendants for kids before...

I never really thought about it. I mean, how different would it be, pendants for children? Equally blank on that one heheh.

Still working on them. I've made a couple, but they look too big and too serious for a kid....arghh! Anyway....I was looking online for some inspiration and have found a tutorial that features one of your pendants! Did you know about it? www.lovethispic.com/image/3842…

Oh, yes! I'm very proud of that. You can find that in ChaosFay 's gallery here:
It was a three-way collaboration, and she got a well-deserved DD for it. If you go through her gallery, you'll find a ton of pieces which feature my pendants (many of which are for sale on her Etsy page: www.etsy.com/shop/naynaymacram… ). I absolutely love my work and hers combined--I really do not feel like my pendants are complete until she does something with them. She is my artistic other half!

OMG I feel so loved! Thank you! With me moving up there you'll be able to dictate what you'd like to see done with your pendants while looking through my monster collection of beads.

The round bead is turquoise, and I believe some of the chips are fluorite.

Swelling going down is always a good sign though! It's a start. How about the other problems?

Eh. Could be better, could be worse. Something weird happened tonight. A bit of one of my front teeth just...fell off. Like crumbs. It's just a corner of the tooth, but I'm scheduling an appt for either Monday evening (the dental clinic is open till 7p) or sometime on Wednesday. This is so weird! Just a crumbling tooth. No discoloration. Just weird.

That's really odd. Apparently I never wrapped my brain around losing my teeth as a child, because I still have annoying dreams where my teeth are falling out/falling apart. That's like one of my weird dreams but while awake I will be genuinely curious what happened to your tooth!
