Going through my huge backstock trying to catch up on things ... I made this while going through a challenging time; it was like an artistic block, but for my whole life, not just my art. I made this when I was hovering on the threshold of despair to try and keep afloat on a really bad night, and I'm still here, so I guess it did its job. I hope it finds a happy home with someone else it can inspire. A rather heavy description, but it merited it.Oxidized copper wire, jade, pearls and glass beads. Pendant measures about 1.5 inches in length.

The green with the copper there is just fantastic. The colors have a great feel together. And the wire wrapping is just beautiful. I've really got to learn how to do that.

Oooooh. I don't know what it is about this one that grabs my attention and holds it. But /something/. It's so... it's... rich and vibrant and... I don't know. It's just gorgeous. And it makes me think of steampunk. No idea why. Maybe it's the copper?

I kind of get the steampunk thing too. The copper I think and also the ornate lines of the wrapping? It looks old fashioned. I'm really glad you like it! It's a personal favourite.

I love that it really brings out what you're talking about. The binding on the right side is like a death grip but slowly releases and curls around, the spirit set free.

that's actually a really apt description of what I was going through, and still am to a lesser degree. I have this obsession with order, but it turns into a death grip. My jewelry is one of the few area of my life that feels like it's in balance most of the time.

I suggest taking up watercolor. I'm a control freak, through and through, but through art I let things go. It helps with the rest of my life. With watercolors I can't control where and what the paint will do. Instead of forcing realism, I go with a fantastical look at a photograph.
