Does Dafina and Fahari really want to kill each other and why is Akili in such a good mood? Was Dafina always this abusive and possessive of her daughters? Did Fahari resentment for her mother increased before the fight because I dont think that in prior pages she would have called her a "depraved thing," even though that is an understatement, albeit hurtful?

Yes, they really went for each others' blood. At first, Fahari simply wanted to get Dafina away from her sister, but when her mother accidentaly admitted to killing Anga, Fahari somewhat lost her mind.
Akili witnessed none of the fight, because he was making his rounds(guarding the borders, counting the fresh kill, etc.) so of course he was happy.
Dafina was not always this abusive or possessive- when she was younger she had a son by another lion whom she loved- this son and lover were later killed by Wasi(considered competition). So she was afraid that letting them go and lead their own lives would result in the death of another child.
As Fahari aged, watching her son grow up and live a live she could not be a part of took its toll. My original script for this included a segment where she planned to talk to Akili and put her son under full surveillance in the pride.However, I removed it a few days ago because I couldn't work in a way for Dafina to find out and the scene be civil. So I changed it so she simply was 'done' with her mom being so biased. Hope this helps.

Yes, she is the oldest surviving child. And yes, they are arch-enemies. I'd imagine anybody would be after hearing your mother killed your husband.
