Naanda breathed a sigh. Finally, two cubs had been born. Later today Scar...Taka...Scar... whoever, would be coming to see them. She was happy to provide him with twins, a boy Darweshi and a female to be called Anisa. But if truth was told, she was pleased she had helped her little sister out. That's when the father entered the cave, accompanied by Zyra. "Oh! Naanda, they are beautiful. Taka, what do you think?" But the lion hardly heard her, so mesmerized by the cubs was he. "Hello, pretty ones. I'm your daddy. Awww, I love you too!" he responded softly as the pink-nosed daughter licked his nose. "Yelp!" He gasped, shaking his head as his son reached up and pulled out two of his whiskers. "Ow. You're a little trouble maker, aren't you? Well, I know just how to fix that." He sat down and gently pulled the now wide-eyed cub into his own paws, leaning his head down and blowing on the belly of the child, who appropriately let out a squeal of delight.

Taka leveled his head with Naanda's eyes. "They are absolutely perfect. Thank you for doing this for me and Zyra. There is never anything I can do to thank you, but I will serve you all the days of my life."

At this moment, Ahadi entered, sneering at the cubs. "Bastard cubs. Well done, Naanda. Your standards have lowered to worse than a rogue. Even rogues will leave another's mate be." Zyra stood at the insult, but Taka was the one to speak. "Shut up, you barmy old oaf. She is the most respectable lioness in this place, and you can go to the devil." Ahadi growled, anger in his eyes as he stepped forward. "Well, look whose mane finally came in. You better watch it, SCAR. Or I'll have you ousted before you can blink." Taka flinched at the despicable name of his father's creation, then he lifted his head, tilting his chin and letting out the slightest roar. "If you don't get the devil out of this cave, your place will be six feet under instead of on the summit, old lion."

When Ahadi left, Taka looked at the cubs again. "Do you want to name them, or..." "Darweshi for the boy. Maybe Anisa for the girl?" Taka nodded. "Perfect. Now, please excuse me. I must go rant to Mufasa about our worthless sire." The two girls watched him go, then Zyra settled down beside Naanda to cuddle with her new niece and nephew.
