This area was flooded for weeks a few years ago, it probably drowned.

...that's understandable, but when I was in Yellow Stone last year, some guy lit his cigarette and ended up burning a lot of trees. that's pretty sad...

Thank you Alice . I walk past this old tree almost every day and I'm always listening for cracking noises of limbs breaking off as I pass under it. I'll miss it when it's gone

It looks alot 'deader' than mine . Poor thing. I notice bits of mine all over the ground when i go over there too.
Just don't be under it if anything drops off Gil.

I think it is deader than yours It probably died as a result of the great flood of 1993, the water was at least 10 feet up the trunk
if not more.
