Bit of a holiday treat for everyone.

Had this idea banging around in my head now for a long time and thought I’d finally commit it to paper/iPad.

I love Manga. It’s so dynamic compared to Western comics and we can really learn a lot from it in terms of storytelling and visualisation etc.

I’m influenced by so much of it that I can’t draw from one particular influence and as a result, I seem to come up with a mish-mash of different styles each time I attempt it. In this one particular panel I looked at styles from My Hero Academia, Goblin Slayer, Reincarnation Coliseum, Shinju No Nectar, One Punch Man, Fire Force, Tenkaichi, Bastard, Is it Wrong… to name but a few.

But when it came to drawing the leg I couldn’t veer away from my own style! The foreshortened leg is very much how ‘I’ would draw it. (Especially as my wife models them so there’s NO way I can get them wrong!😄)

Another thing I’m conscious of is the time it takes to draw something like this. This one panel took 2 days to plan and execute. Whilst I’m really pleased with the result, if I were doing this for real, I would have to work faster!
