Commission for of their character Toonman. This was a nice fun one to do as I was really keen to pay homage to the Looney Tunes/Tex Avery style cartoons that I loved as a kid.

You can visit their page at the link above to get the full backstory on Toonman from NRG directly but I’ll try and give a little bit of an idea here too. Tom Foolery is a failed 1920s cartoon character that never took off. Eager for a chance to prove his mettle as a successful cartoon in his own right, he makes a pact with the cartoon devil who banishes him from the realm of animation into our universe. A fish out of water, he haplessly turns out to be just the hero our dimension needs: Toonman - the animated ace!

All being well, I’ll be working on more Toonman projects in future but for the time being, it was lovely to get a chance to put my spin on a character that’s still in its early stages of development, especially as the creators at NRG have been so enthusiastic about this piece. I’m glad I could do your character justice and thank you for trusting me with him.
