Edit December 1st, 2011 - I'm disabling comments because far too many people are taking this *way* too seriously. Also, if you look at the date, I drew this YEARS ago, when Malfoy was still a little evil bastard and not just a spineless one. So since people can't play nice, I'm shutting down comments.I need to get this off my chest. I can't stand fan fics. There are some damn talented writers out there that are wasting their time writing stories they wish that would happen to characters that already exist and are copyright someone else! The ones that get me the worst are the Harry Potter fan fics. Why? Because people take already developed characters that we all know and love, and mangle their personalities. for example: Harry and Draco. Nearly every fan fic people tell me to read (I'll skim over the odd one if someone is insistent enough), all the writers seem to think that Draco has this huge amount of respect and brotherly love for Harry that just seems to be hidden away down there. (Or they end up in bed together...) Same way everyone seems to think that secretly, Sephiroth was in love with Aeris. ......Don't make me hurt you. SO this is my own little reminder to everyone, if Draco could have the heart to kill, he would kill Harry. The seventh book has yet to say whether or not Draco will suddenly show this huge amount of admiration towards Harry, but in the meantime I am drawing it as I see it. He hates him. He does not love him, does not want to be his brother or best friend, he would gladly scream "AVADA CADAVRA!!" in Harry's direction at any time. (*cough* I only THINK I spelled that right....)
And as a side note, I never said that any of the fan fic writers are bad authors, in fact some I have come across I gladly read...I just change the characters names in my head so I don't get mad. Like....Julie Steve and Bob....

I love it! Draco's whole 'misunderstood bad boy' image is so mush more appealing to me than Harry's whiney 'I'm better than you and I also have the emotional stability of a 5 year old girl' attitude. I think I want this situation to happen in the 7th book (which comes out on my birthday! Yay!)....you know J.K. might kill Harry off anyway, so she should let Draco do it.........Anyways....really great pic and now I'm off to see your gallery!

Well I never wanted to make any prints because I don't like printing peices baised off of other people's characters, but I could take a look at some print shops around town if you really wanted one. I'll have to take a look at the file and see what the resolution is like, the print might be pretty tiny lol.

same way i do most of mine, sketch it, ink it, throw it onto a scanner, then try to color it ^^

I personally love fanfiction and spend nearly all my time reading it, although not much HP fanfics lately. I definatly(sp?) agree with you on the subject of character mangling! And no, Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter are NOT secretly in love, and do NOT desprately(sp, again?) want to be best buds.
That said, I like fanfics where Draco is one of the main characters. And I agree with Kustushoe, Harry deserves it! I mean, he had NO clue what that spell did, and it could have been even worse than it was! He basicly slashed a guy who had no idea it was coming wide open with a sword. (At least with Avada Kedavra it's quick.) I totally hated Harry in that scene.

nothing personal as you are calling me a flamer and telling me I shouldn't hate on people? Maybe you should read the comments and replies posted on here, and my initial comment on the peice again, and see if I qualify as a flamer. As I have said, over and over again, it's my own personal opinion, and I have no problem with what other people do. If I was a hater or "flamer" then I would be on here saying "It's stupid, stop doing it, you suck!" and then going onto your page telling you you are stupid and suck. But I would like to see where it says that or where i have done that. I take great offense to the word "flamer" as the only ones I've seen are people screaming hate at each other and it is a very cruel word with much hatred attached to it. You might as well call me a Nazi or a Satanist. This area is for comments on the art itself, or for people to express their own opinion without name calling in the process, so thank you for giving me the correct spelling on the spell.

I'm very impressed by this picture. The bloodiness is well-portrayed, and Draco looks deliciously murderous. It's pretty much what Harry deserves for not checking to see what the hell sectumsempra did first.
Though I am wondering-- Avada Kedavra didn't work on Harry when he was a baby, and according to Dumbledore magical power develops over time, plus the fact that the old charm from Lily that protected him doesn't dissappear, so how would an Avada Kedavra work? Hmn...

Decent work on Harry's hair, though Draco's hair is better. The creasing is well-placed and the torn shirt sits right.
And thank you, THANK YOU SO MUCH, for making this piece insted of all the romantic fluffbetween those two that shows up so often here. I appreciate art for art's sake and so I occasionally enjoy those too, but there's such a thing as too much, and you're the first person to show this and for that I thank you!

...I do have to say this though-- I'm a fanfiction writer who's currently trying to make a H/D story work. BEFORE YOU TELL ME THAT'S PATHETIC, it's being done as an exercise in character psychology and what can change the way people think. I'm working with characters which are already developed so that people KNOW ALREADY how they think and how that can change. Draco being a slightly vain but mostly insecure homophobic muggle-hating pureblood fanatic who has a vendetta against Harry. Harry being a self-riteous angst-ridden stubborn black-and-white good-vs-evil spokesman. And how all that can change. (eg With difficulty >.< )

Otherwise I wouldn't do in-depth fanfic. Mostly they're just to see how I can manipulate a predetermined character in certain circumstances. It's theraputic.

One, I would never call what anyone is doing is pathetic. I will express my opinion, but I would never bash anyone outright. I have a stand against fan fiction for my own reason, but if someone has the ability to go out there and write something amazing, as a project or otherwise, then that is wonderful for them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I just express mine, I would never mean to hurt anyone in the process, it's how I feel, and I won't push it on others.
Two, you must send me a copy when you are done! Haha, telling from your comment your writing is very clear and distinct, I'd love to see your finished work. As I've mentioned I have read and *gasp!* even enjoyed some fan fics. It just the ones that go around saying "No no, they really do love each other!" gaaaaaah come on people! But for me to know that I dislike most of them, that means I had to read them first ^_^
Three, as for the Avada Yadda Yadda not working on Harry, I'm sure Draco would find that out after he blindingly tries. That outcome could be humorous ^^...or Deadly. Not sure which.

One... it's okay, I didn't think you would, I'm just a little self-concious about it because I'm writing fan-fiction of a very famous children's story so I feel slightly silly. Especially since the I'm writing a story that ends up with two people who would like nothing more than to humiliate one another in some violent way (the best they could have in the current plot is grudging admiration, jealousy and hate for each other) in to being supportive and loving to one another. Difficult and pretty much pointless.

Two... It's very very VERY much not finished. I have fragments of 14 of the chapters but I'm trying to plan out more, because some of the events that make Harry so different are... complicated and kinda ick. Basically I've committed to writing a saga before this time next year... basically ouch. That's at least 1000 pages, so that's what, like 400, 000 words? Half a million words. Sometimes I hate myself for these stupid things. I could have gotten away with a drabble of before-and-after family death or something.
Really, if you do psychology, ignore pep talks saying you can do anything with that much time.
And third, can I use that idea in my fic? *cackle*

Personally I love reading HP fanfictions but I do hate anything that resembles Harry and Draco either liking eachother or being in love.... I also think they hate eachother and unless J.K Rowling proves me wrong I'm not happy about reading it... Anyway

I'd say that Draco is now going to have a scar of his very own! I am with you on that ... I can't get into fan fic either - I am afraid they will ruin a story that I already love. I would rather pine away waiting for the JK Rowling version, thank you. I really do not like seeing pics of Harry and Draco as...um...more than friends either (or even friends for that matter). Maybe Draco has good in him somewhere - he couldn't kill Dumbledore after all- but I think it was more just cowardice. Not that I don't LOVE Draco - he IS a great character!

I really just have to give some fan fic writers credit, they do amazing jobs story wise. I wish I could remember the name of it but one girl in particular wrote several hundred pages of a fan fic that was so incredibly done I had to sit back afterwords and muddle through my head what was real to JKR and was made up by this girl. I just wanted to write to her and tell her that if she could only go on to do her own stories, she would have them published in no time. I hate seeing talented people work through other people's characters.

I think maybe it is because, like you said, the characters are so near and dear to my heart! Hyperionwitch (check her out... she's amazing) wrote a whole sequel to Pirates of the Carribbean that is incredible (before the actual sequel came out) and I think I might like it better than the real one. But I am not as in to Pirates as Harry. Maybe it takes a bit of distance to be able to really get into it, at least for me!

I do agree though, that Draco and Harry will never be friends, but I personally don't think Draco hates him as much as people may think, but again, that's just my opinion.

It's not so much the fan fics that get to me, but seeing all these incredibly talented writers working behind someone elses characters. Especially if they are writing completely against said characters nature. However, even I have to admit that I killed myself reading "A Lot to be Upset About" but Cassandra Claire. It is absolutely hilarious, but in my head I just have to change the characters names. Lol. Seriously, check it out.
