My problem is, the face is my favorite thing to draw, and I always do it first. Afterwards everything else (clothing, hair etc) feels like a chore. Hence I rarely finish things. But I really like this, despite the fact that it's incomplete.Related content

wow. i was just sat there looking at the thumbnail on my deviantwatch.. thats it. just sat there. staring at it. wow.
then, obviously, i realised i had to actually click on it. and then i saw it even bigger and it just looked even better and there i was, sat there, staring again. and then i was thinking of what i could possibly say to let you know how fantastic this is, and i still am, but i was just staring. and, for once, my attention didnt wander. i have an amazingly small attention span, like u appently, and i find it hard to concentrate on one thing for any length of time. but this? this is just... i just want to stare at it some more.
so excuse me, for now i wish to stare.

I think the unfinished aspect makes it look finished. Sketchy around the sides and complete in the middle...it just draws your eyes to the important part. The very human expression. Where do you get the inspiration? Or the reference?
Also i think when trying to create a complete image you should start with the stuff you don't like so that you always have your favourite part to look forward to.
And "The unfinished woman" sounds like a cool title for a comic.

I guess the inspiration comes from the fact that I like people... who I don't know, anyway. I get my references from google. I just browse for interesting faces, and when I find one I like, I have my subject.
I know, and I actually tried that strategy with this one, which is probably the reason why her head scarf got (almost) finished.
And that is a cool title. It wouldn't be hard to develop a concept around that.

Yea. But the thing is, with me--even if the subjects look pretty normal, they usually come out looking sad. I don't really try, but it happens. I'm gonna try to find the last reference. There were three girls, and I drew them all, but could only fit two into digital picture thing.
