beautiful illustration, I've read some of the books and the Kings in them are wimps compared to some of our ancient Irish Kings. Under old Irish laws a prospective King had to be physically whole, so if some chieftain looked like he was overambitious he ended up blinded, gelded or had fingers chopped off making him unfit to be elected to the throne.
Another King - Dermot of Leinster had the son of an enemy skinned, jointed and sent back to the over ambitious father in a sack, another story claimed he kicked the head of another enemy like a football after a battle. Our kings could probably out drink Robert Baratheon as well

thanks for the love brother. leaders choosen via merit rather than birthright are always the best kinds, thats how the greatest men in history make their marks. as far as out drinking robert baratheon, on the one hand he was known for his drinking and whoring, but on the other hand, so are the irish.

Weel, under ancient Irish law we also had 12 different types of marriage including one that lasted only 24 hours so old Robert could have had a bunch of wives instead of just fooling aroundΒ .Β
We also had a thing called handfasting ~ sort of like a temporary "trial run" marriage.....so if your prospective mother-in-law turned out to be an evil harridan you didn't have to put up with her.Β

jon doesnt seem like he can bear the burden of the iron throne. he could be one or dannys generals and his son could sit on the throne, but he himself probably wont. then again asoiaf always has crazy twists, might not even be either of them.Β
