Description
With a real quick turnaround, there wasn't much chance to do that much for "The Deep Frontier" by The Rifter #70 By Palladium Books. An extensive vehicle & colony creation article, which I must admit had nothing like what I just drew for it in it! Well, save the description of domed underwater colonies.I actually went through Rifts: New Navy as well, looking to see if anyone had done something like this - but no! No mecha-mermaids. Of course, I show it to Wayne, the editor, and he assumes it's a Cybernetic lower body prosthesis. My idea was that it was a power armor suit for a mermaid! Because.. you know.. Rifts! (The bubble helm is actually for storing water that had been filtered in case she has to go through a potentially toxic environment.) Another person who'd seen it without the fish & whale, as it appears in the book (yeah, to sell this better, I went back and added details.) Thought it was happening in space! I guess everyone had a different interpretation. ^_^

i kinda wish i'd had the funds to go to the open house and purchase the original artwork. sadly, didn't get to. 
but i know a friend of mine did pick it up so at least it went to a good home.

i'd figured it was a fancy scuba suit/PA for a human.. kinda like the Tritonian merbot PA on pg.101-102 of worldbook7.
a cybernetic mermaid tail though would be neat, as is the idea of a mermaid body armor.
hmm.. now to figure out how to get mermaids into the setting without them being evil Psirens made by the Lord of the Deep.

Mermaids, if I recall, are a type of Faerie Folk found in Monsters & Animals for the PF setting. You might also be able to find them in RCB1 in the Faerie section as well. I don't have my books in front of me to verify at the moment though.

Well, she is cute. So how's the Peter is the Wolf comic coming along? Is that crazy werewolf huntress, Juniper Stebbins, gonna get turned and put into Peter's little Harem? I think we all know what we're talking about. The girls are lining up for him:

And i'm guessing Juniper Stebbins, am I right? It would be interesting as to what kind of wolfgirl Juniper will change into. I mean, I doubt she'll become a giantess with big boobs and a massive sexual drive.

Hm, I'd have thought bionics too, since the coverage doesn't look total. Though a partial exosuit for a Meran is certainly possible! Likely a custom job if so.
The idea of someone purposefully getting a tail cybernetic replacement to live with the aquatic types is pretty cool to me, personally.
Anyway, cool pic, regardless.
