I may use this for inspiration as I fashion a fake set of books to cover up our shelves of DVDs. So classy, I know.

it looks beautiful. i like old books and this photograph looks exactly like what i'm looking for
I looked for a picture like this to print it and cover the glassdoors of my shelf... to hide the inside xD
it would be very nice if I could use it?...only for personal use of course!

thanks

Great shot - really nice work! May I add it to my desktop theme background? (I have a thing for old books!) (dougwerf (at) gmail dot com)

Thank you for replying. If it is for your personal desktop theme that's fine. Or did you want to redistribute it? Maybe I should make a version of this on my stock account at barefootliam-stock

And before I forget again, I'm wearing brown socks (and brown shoes). Β My feet are far, far too cold for me to go barefoot - my legs seize up in charlie-horses when I do. Β Plus, the whole "working in Washington DC for the US Army" thing - not really conducive to barefootedness. Β Although I appreciate the idea!

LOL, no redistribution - not sure how that works anyway. Β I just love books - I've downloaded the theme from Microsoft, and then I've been adding to it slowly as I find other great book photos. Β I'm hoping to get my camera back from my dad, and take a few like this of my own books; I'll try to post them here if they come out well. Β Thanks for writing back!

Thanks if it's for personal use I've no problem at all, and I can send you a larger version if you want. email liam at holoweb dot net with [FOBO] image request, as the subject, and mention the image you're after ([FOBO] will put it into my fromoldbooks.org sales folder)

Cold feet may suggest circulation problems that are worth investigating, or may mean you're not drinking enough water. Thanks for replying.

Beautiful. Books always are, but these colours here are splendid.
I wouldn't have thought this to be a panorama. Maybe the image is too small to detect any glitches now, but it looks seamless.
I don't have much to say against the fact that you have reduced the site, but there is one thing I would like to note: I cannot read most titles any more.

So, nice choice of books, and also nice choice of location, wherever it is. It doesn't seem to be a normal book shelf, more like a floor. Suits the colours of the books.

Thank you, and thank you for looking.

Yes, the books were on a polished wooden floor.

I'm sorry the titles are now hard to read with the reduced size. There's a 1581 Geneva Bible (incomplete, which is how I could afford it); the lives of Thomas Hearne and Anthony Γ‘ Wood; a number of old dictionaries (Anglo-Saxon, English, English/French, Hindoo)...

Hi! Wonderful piece of work you've got here! I am into photo-manipulation so I would like to ask for your permission to edit the book titles and use the edited version as my cover photo for my facebook timeline. I would post a link back to this image and state that this lovely piece of art is the original version. Would this be alright?

I can share with you the edited version once its done if you are curious to see how it looks

Waiting to hear from you,

Mina

It's not really intended as a stock image; see [link] for some pictures of books that are for general use.

I also have some book pictures at ~barefootliam-stock as long as you link back.

If none of those are Ok let me know. I'd rather not have the boos-in-a-row picture here spread too much as I used it for my own Web site branding.

Thanks! (and thank you for asking)

Hi again,

Thanks for the links. I looked through them and there were really nice images but I wasn't able to find an image that emotionwise depict what I was looking for, unlike books_in_a_row.

I will be using the image for personal purposes only, so it will not be distributed. But if you like, I can also place a link to your website so its clear that its your work.

If not, then thanks anyway and good work.

If you (1) link back and (2) say, "copyright image used by permission" either on the image or next t it, then ok go ahead.

I'm sorry to be so reluctant - it was a huge amount of work to make!

Thanks again for your understanding.

Hmm, that link asks me to sign up for some game or other.

Note that "books in a row" is not a stock image, it's not an image you can use without asking first.

Thanks,

Thanks for asking, and for your kind words!

It's not a stock image, but if your blog is non-commercial I will say yes in exchange to a link back either to the image here or to [link] (and also tell me where your blog is so I can see it!)

Thanks for asking!

Without a credit? You realise it's not a royalty-free stock image, right?

I'm glad you like the image... however...

You must ask first... since you didn't ask, it's too late... please either give clear credit on your journal page, including a link back (OK, I"ll relent, and you can say, "used by permission" if you link back), or remove the image.

Thanks,

Liam

Thanks!

For things in the resouces/stock images category on DA, or if things are explicitly marked as stock images, you can usually use thm on DA without asking, but read the description to makes sure. For other things, always ask first

It's not really intended as a stock photo... but... if you promise to go barefoot for 24 hours... and to link back either to the deviation or to [link] from your Web site... (and send me the URL so I can see it, too!) then go ahead

Please say, image used by permission, if your design allows it.

Thanks, and thanks for asking!

I really love that picture. I can't indentify why in particular, but it probably relates to my love for books - especially the old, leather bound ones. The coloring is great too - the warm colors make it seem like it would fit in great with an old, musty library filled with the great classics and such... Great job! And a fav for sure.
