It's sad and exposing and lonely and contemplative. sigh...so much to think about!

An interesting perspective of the poet. Shouldn't he look more deranged?

i thought the idea that he (or she) lived on another planet was enough.

we're all naked and exposed in our own worlds. the reality in this is hard-hitting. brilliant work.

Magnificent work expressing all the condition of the emotional world of the poet. We poets, human beings in quite what this condition has of irrevocable and of down-to-earth, we isolate in our parallel world where we try to contemplate our universe in a different way. We try maybe to fly away as Icare towards more light or darkness, towards more humanity than what the gods gave us. Recreate this world, if only in imagination, so that the life finds a sense in the chaos. A refuge as for these monarch butterflies which, even dying on the way, return to their first paradise which saw them being born many generations before.

Having been away for rather too long, and returning to find the wonderful Sarah gone.
This stopped me dead in my tracks, and brought a lump to my throat.
Ron, you've nailed it with this, so full of emotion and turmoil.
Words are failing me.
Just perfect,
Gary

This reminded me immediately of 'Christina's World', the famous dry brush tempera painting by Wyeth. This link is to the Wikipedia article on it: [link] . In Christina's world the heroine is only struggling towards a clapboard sided prairie house. In this work it's as if the protagonist was struggling towards the whole world.

Wow. It looks like Colorado has looked for the past 4 days! I vaguely remember this large glowing thing in the sky... I think people refer to it as 'the sun'
Great piece.

'Christina's World' is one of my favorite paintings. This world is more barren, alien... the world of the poet...
