Mr. Philip Harper was in a great jazz mood that night...The security guys allowed me to approach the stage, even if I had no press account. They gave me one minute. This is the best shot I could take in that little time.

It's a sad day when your search for "jazz" turns up a front page full of transformers. Thank you for this one piece. It's a beautifull photograph (emotion...just wow), and he has very beautifull hands don't you think?

well, imho the most interesting feature in this photo (technically speaking) is the contrast between light and shadow, particilarly on mr. harper's face. about emotion, yes, i'd say that's waht this shot is all about, mainly.

I like the constrast too, it gives the piece a very stage like feeling. You can feel the moment, it's not posed, so to say. I think the fact that it was taken during a real performance has had a very enhancing effect on the photo.

I'm a big fan of B&W although I don't do it much. I like the chiaroscuro effect. Very lifelike capture. You can "feel" the sound.

Wonderful picture love the black and white.
Makes the jazz feeling stronger.

Thats no problem at all this is more for my self.
I almost never sell my jazz/blues paintings.
But i want to post the painting on dav with no selling options ofcourse.
