This is an update of a poem I wrote back in 2018
I made a few minor text changes but mostly the reason for this update
Is that originally, this had a cover image for it
thanks to Eclipse all cover images are now GONE
It is a strange thing for an art site to do
To deny artists the right to share their art

I was inspired to write this back in 2018
After reading Maggie Lawson's outstanding poem " Closure”
and seeing her YouTube video ”GoodbyeFull”

The two together originally combined
to become a glorious declaration of emancipation
from the mental shackles of the past.

We must consciously decide to be more
than just the flotsam of our own history.
Even the darkest memories
do not have to DEFINE us

Sadly Maggie has moved on from DA since
But wherever she is now
I hope she is still staying true to her dreams

May your black roses ever bloom, Maggie!
