Description
I was walking with Eric, looking for Nick (who had left a few hours earlier) when I slipped off a steep hill and landed in a ravine. Eric ran to get some rope, but a Phobinychus spotted me. But then, a huge reptile attacked and killed the Phobinychus, and I watched it feed.Leopardon, aka the "Chasm Slug", as it is called by the natives, is an ambush predator that, no joke, pretends to be a rock until its prey gets to close! HAHAHA! Its skin color mimics that of colorful rocks that can be found in the caves. But their is another odd thing about its skin.....it is coated with a thick layer of poison. I saw a skull hermit crawl along its back for a couple seconds before dying.
Eric came with the rope and helped me out. I just told him I saw one helluva creature.

With its fatness, it must be an easy target for big carnivores.

Yet, it has two defenses: its sharp teeth, perfect for tearing off chunks of meat, and its think hide, which is also poisonousΒ

And that means it would have to be an ambush predator.

Must be sickly colors for those stones; the chasms and ravines are not pretty places. Β They have death written all over them.

Yeah, I didn't like the chasms: I was scared by the giant spiders and bugs with sex organs on their faces......chasms are creepy

You're lucky to get out too. Β Many that fall down there never see the light of day again.

It's true. Β The predators come out the instant they sense fresh fallen prey, dead or alive.
