Here's most of the concepts I did for the hamster before I got to animating him. The concepts are chronological from left to right as I narrowed them down to the two final running poses on the right. The concept is really very very cute!
But looking at the running poses I am not sure that you got them right. I had numerous hamsters over the years and I have never ever seen one run in a gallop kinda way like rats or other rodents do.
They walk the normal diagonal (as in setting the feet forward that are diagonal from each other) way and running is just a very quick way of doing so. I also don't think hamsters can actually jump. So, maybe if you want this to be realistic you might want to recheck and research that... if it's really just for comedic purposes than go ahead ^^

Hamster can jump, although not very high. When they get excited or run a little too fast they do a little twitchy hop that's really cute. I've seen my hamster do it.

Ok, I have seen my hamsters jump but never upwards ^^ I somehow doubt they have the strength in their hindlegs.
Maybe my hamsters were too lazy to hop, haha

Yeah Raven does that too. But I've seen her jump when she gets really excited. She'll run around and then suddenly leap up and squeak.

Wooo, that animation is -sick-! That nice little spin when the hamster "dies" is super fluid and gorgeous. I love the hamster design, but I have to say I'm kinda iffy on the snake design.. just because he looks a great deal like Kaa. If that's what you're going for, I guess that's cool, but I would love to see another interpretation. But all in all, this is pretty stellar

The Kaa thing is the general consensus. I really wasn't trying to go for the Kaa design. I honestly should have looked at the Kaa design to make sure mine was more different from it.. But I didn't. Oh well. Thanks for the kind words.

nice! Im trying to get a good consept for a bear ( a retarded bear, haha ) I accidentally drew a little while ago. still a way to go though. its difficult to make a good design!
