Really love the style here, the color blending is working really effectively and the sketch-like lines are absolutely gorgeous. There's a patch of color/hair right above her right (from her perspective) eye that seems a bit off to me, but the way it blends and stops at different parts everywhere else works really effectively!Β
Great expression, lots of emotion, all in all it's absolutely beautiful!Β

Thank you! This was a garbage sketch and it was very close to not being posted. I'm gald It was in the end, though!Β It seems to have really resonated with a lot of people.

I will definitely keep that in mind.Β I have a four color palette that I tend to with nuetral to warm paintings that's a bright red-magenta, a bright violet, a fairly desaturated orange and a really-desaturated-almost-grey-but-with-a-tiny-hint-of-saturation cyan-green, and since lapis is blue I...thought it would kind of be good to have some blue in there lol. So as a result, the cobalt-bluish color was kind of shoe-horned in without a lot of thought, which might account for the weirdness in that area. I'll be less sloppy next time.

Well, I'm not an artist by any stretch of the imagination (as in I don't even try doing art) but it's similar to writing to me in that even if you aren't happy at all with what you've done, putting it in the public is a great way for feedback and input (and in this case a way to provide encouragement for more)! So I'm glad you did too, I think the sketchiness of it is my favorite part actually ^^Β
And yeah, that does make sense. I think the palette worked great, and four colors is a fantastic amount to work with; less is more sometimes, and those colors all work together nicely! I'm glad you appreciated the feedback, I'm always slightly worried that I might accidentally upset people by feedbacking them. Especially since I know next to nothing about art.
