I'm trying to use up more of the paper when I draw by drawing bigger now. Before I used less than 1/4 of the space on the paper. This image took up about 3/5s of the paper.This is going to be inked via tablet at a later time, cause I need to get used to the blasted thing before I get a better one.
As well, drawing larger allows for me to pay better attention to detail. Alas, once again, I feel like there's no improvement here I notice.
I'm trying my damnest to improve the way I draw cause I feel like I've hit a wall with the level of skill I have.
I know there's always gonna be someone better, but I want to make sure I stay damned good. I know I'll never reach some people's skill with a pencil, whether or not they want to admit how damn good they are.
But I want to try and make sure my own style is one I'm happy with.
Anyway, blah blah blah. Here is Beta again, this time without his helmet on.

I always draw large but nowadays I'm sketching in Photoshop using a tablet at a ridiculous size, then I change the opacity and trace on a new layer. When I'm done I save for web at a decent size. Working with an huge initial size helps me alot when adding detail and improving the overall sketch as I prepare for painting/rendering. On paper it may be more of a burden to get it scanned so I'm not too sure about that, I left paper a couple of months ago. Great work and thanks for the inspiration.

As much as I'd like to just do everything digitally I don't think I'll ever be able to leave paper.

I can draw on paper first and trace my work and undo will be available to me. As well blowing up the image to a larger size allows me not only to draw over my work but to make additions that I couldn't or didn't beforehand.

There are so many things I like about this, I can't even pick one to expand on.
I only noticed the separate eyes when I saw Fran's comment, but I wanted to add my agreement on that subject. The mono-eye thing always bothers me...

I wanted to start drawing the eyes seperate, but I figured that doesn't mean I have to step away from how the eyes look otherwise. Seperate eyes just make more sense than the one eye with two things to see. x.x It kills my logical side. x.x;

Yes, I do notice the difference. That's why I didn't ink it in pen, and said when I do it'll be on the tablet. Hell, I might just go back to using the red or regular lead instead of the blue one.
I'm trying to crank out any image in my mind right now cause I'm getting hauled to Maryland til Tuesday.
Eventually I'm hoping to get good enough on the tablet that I will just be able to draw using it.

Well the friend's design looked a lot more "scrap iron put together" than mine does, which is mine looks a lot more like its spartan armor x.x;
His was closer to what I was going for.
