Description
Base stood in the dank air of Robotropolis. He looked to the sky, he'd returned from Downunda not too long ago. He'd gone there on Mission's last words to seek out the truth behind her defection. Despite warnings from the Freedom Fighters that it was just the mad ramblings of a dying woman, Base went.

Upon his arrival he'd been attacked by a crazy Downundan Hedgehog, without a word she'd set to her work attacking him, the fight was short as Base hadn't fought back at first, when she'd struck Base in the face and insulted the headband across his forehead, he'll let loose on her.

In response to the sudden burst of hostility, she'd knocked him out cold in a hurry, possibly out of a quick burst of fear and adrenaline. She'd left him there, he'd gone to the facility where he'd needed to go, leaving havoc on the SWATbots that got in his way. His second trip through Downunda had been less eventful, and safer, now armed with the truth, he returned to the North, he was met by Snively before he reached the Great Forest. The small man came to Base bearing a message.

He said his uncle Robotnik was sorry for his loss, knowing Mission was practically a sister to him. Robotnik was extending an olive branch, and to meet him in Robotropolis at mid day the next day. Base realized that no one knew what knowledge he now had: the King was a traitor and was in league with Robotnik, Base saw this as an early chance for vengeance, and agreed to appear.

Now here he was, Robotropolis, mid day, waiting.

"That fat fuck better not stand me up." Base grumbled.

The air displaced around him, a hover pod landed, the air stopped and the headband tied to his head slowly flopped back down and hung lifeless next to his head. The pod opened and Robotnik stepped out, Snively by his side, no guards.

Robotnik stepped forward, the best sympathetic look he could muster on his ugly mug; it made Base hate him more.

"My dear boy, I realize that in these times of war, one can never truly express the regret of a fallen comrade."

Base glared,"If you've got a point then you fucking well better make it before what's left of my patience is gone RoBUTTnik."

Robotnik's eyes flashed with anger, but he smiled,"Yes. Of course dear boy. Snively?"

Snively stepped forward and held out a cylinder, it looked like a five pound dumbell. Base grabbed it and looked at it, examining it, he looked to Robotnik.

"What the hell is this, fat boy?" he snarled.

Robotnik adjusted his posture,"That, is a laser blade. Carefully crafted, so as to-"

"Real original, donut thighs. A laser sword in a tech city, should I get on my best single lens goggles and my best quasi-futuristic jumpsuit?"

Robotnik inhaled deeply,"Dear boy, you are in my city now, far away from your safe zone, do not tempt me."

Base threw the bladeless hilt in the air and caught it a few times,"Let me tell you a story...its about a hedgehog who lost a dear friend and went to Downunda."

Robotnik raised a brow,"I suppose we know this hedgehog?"

"Of course, how smart you are tubby. See, this hedgehog went there, and went through lots of hell. He then broke into one of YOUR factories where you house a lot of hidden files. Its funny how you'd hide alllll the Northern area's files in Downunda, where they'll never go, clever that."

Base glared at Robotnik,"One of those being that the King is under your fucking command and it was your plan to have Mission defect and me kill her and the WHOLE GODDAMN THING!"

Base hit the hilt's button, a flash of light, the beam shot out and in one swift fluid motion, he'd removed Robotnik's three remaining organic limbs. Robotnik's screams and curses echoed across Robotropolis.

Base looked at Snively, he broke the beam sword and crossed the distance quickly, he grabbed Snively by the shirt and slammed him against the hover pod,"You get him to the med bay, and keep him ALIVE. I want him to SUFFER this defeat, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!"

Snively nodded, Base dropped him and made his way out of Robotropolis as quickly as he could, Robotnik was taken care of, revenge was his, but now, the King, the willing participant, would have to suffer as well.

Mission's blood was on their hands, he would visit his wrath on them both, and to hell with the consequences.

Base was now crossing the wide opened field between the city and the Great Forest, he stood, looking at the forest, he clenched his fists tight,"Heaven help you, Max. Because God can't do it alone."
