Description
In the early 2030s, Rosenthal began research and development of technologies to aid automated low-level flight in degraded visual environments. While much research had been done with rotary wing aircraft in DVE, fixed wing development had been relatively stagnant since the turn of the century.Due to its tactical aviation division's preference for low-level flying, the incentive to develop a solution to this hazardous mode of flight was a strong one.
With a combination of software and sensors, Rosenthal developed a low-infrastructure DVE navigation system that required little if any modification for the parent aircraft. For testing, the electronics were mounted in a modified AAQ-13 LANTIRN navigation pod and flown on an F-16H Strike Viper, nicknamed, for the purpose of the tests, the "Blind Viper."
The Blind Viper tests were successful, with the DVE equipment being retrofitted onto Osean F-35s and FB-22s.
F-16H RNL-05-0010 was used for the Blind Viper tests, receiving upgrades to her cockpit avionics and an experimental modified AAQ-13 pod. To commemorate her participation, the tail was emblazoned with a modified Basilisk's logo, the serpent wearing a blindfold to signify the functional blindness of the pilots, while the crew names of Lee Sin and Mr. Magoo were chosen as references to popular culture featuring blind or nearly blind characters.

Reminds me of the articles you posted covering autonomous landing for rotary wing aircraft in addition to reading about GCAS on the F-16C. As for the aircraft's livery, getting strong vibes of the first F-16C Block 40 Night Falcon. Excellent stuff.

That paper is where I got the idea. This is just that applied to fixed wing combined with GCAS. And yeah the scheme was based off the various F-16 demonstrators, but with Rosenthal colors instead of "Murica"
