Description
VF-84 (and then VF-103) are probably 60% of the reason I became a fan of the F-14 in the first place. Β This really was too long in the making.F-14B Bu. No. 162918 AA-100 of VF-103 "Jolly Rogers" during their last cruise on the USS John F. Kennedy in 2004, prior to transitioning to Super Hornets.
"Victory 100" is shown here armed with 2 GBU-12s, 2 AIM-9Ms, and an AIM-7P. Β The AAQ-25 LTS is out of view on the other side.

It's really a shame the retired her and replaced her with the 'bug'. Β The F-14 was partially a victim of politics. Β I am going to put in a request to add this one the the Tomcatsquadron gallery too.

WALK THE PLANK, YE SCALLYWAG!
(Just kidding. Β I know a lot of people think the Jolly Rogers are overhyped, which makes sense considering you see skulls and crossbones EVERYWHERE, but they're still probably my top 3 with VF-101 and VF-154's final Tomcat scheme)

Yeah I feel the same, though. For VF-154 I'd say their 90s-era schemes really appeal to me. The ones where the had the shield or the knight and that one CAG Bird I showed you yesterday.
