Description
"Helena, help me explore the room. I think we should give it thorough inspection. There's something more than meets the eye in here, I'm sure of it." Ayane asked of her companion, believing there might be a hidden passage out of the room. "If you say so. It's better than doing nothing." Helena replied as she climbed to her feet, walking toward the back of the room before Ayane stopped her. "Wait! Actually, let's start over here. Maybe we'll find something close to the clock." Ayane blurted out before she could stop herself, wanting to keep Helena close just in case. We need to stick together, we've come too far to be separated and picked off in such a place. They scoured the first bookcase for anything out of the ordinary, checking every book as well. "Oh disgusting, this one's all wet and smells." Helena moaned as she picked up a damp, tattered book. It was covered in a red-brown slime that smelled repulsive, prompting her to throw it to the ground and leave it there. "Ha ha, be sure to wash your hands next chance you get." Ayane japed at Helena's misfortune, earning a playful sideways glance. "I'll definitely do that." Helena replied as they continued their search, unaware they were making just a hair too much noise. The sound of the dropped book spurred a small puddle in the back corner of the room to vibrate. A small blob slowly began forming, taking shape as a pair of eyes and mouth appeared.
"This one's no good, we should check the next one." Helena suggested, moving to the next bookcase as Ayane completed her own search. "I'll be over there in a second." She called over her shoulder, once again feeling she'd missed something. A final patdown of the bottom shelf revealed a small switch on the bottom of the shelf above it. Ayane flipped it eagerly, but nothing happened for a solid ten seconds. Damn, nothing. It must be broken. She was about to join Helena when the grandfather clock chimed, unveiling its true function. "Whoa! It works?" Helena gasped, surprised by the loud chiming of the clock. "I guess so, I just flipped a switch and it came on." Ayane said. They watched the clock chime four times as the wall next to it began to slide open and expose the hidden passage Ayane had been searching for. "I knew it!" She exclaimed after almost doubting herself. The two women shared a hesitant glance before descending the staircase, leaving behind the other occupant of the room.
The blob growled as the clock continued to knell, driving it into a rage. The gelatinous fiend grew to its full size in moments, standing a head above the bookcases of the room. It slithered to the clock and bashed it to pieces with a headbutt, silencing the annoying machine once and for all. It was wide awake though and noticed the newly revealed passageway. It prolapsed the stairs, leaving behind a slimy trail as it went.
"This looks modern, what's been going on in this place?" Helena observed from inside the passageway. Its ceiling was lined with pipes and light bulbs; the passage itself constructed with solid concrete. "That certainly seems to be the question, doesn't it?" Ayane retorted as she brushed her fingers along the wall. It was crushed with a dusty resin, but it felt foreign to the lavender haired woman. She'd never felt anything like it before. It's not much, but maybe I'm starting to piece together what happened here. Someone built this place recently, that much is certain. Ayane analyzed the area a bit longer with Helena before they decided to proceed. "I'll take the lead." Ayane volunteered, setting off with her eyes peeled for any sign of danger.
They made it around a few corners before the danger struck from behind, circumventing Ayane's careful efforts. "Do you hear something?" Helena stopped them as a faint sloshing sound began growing louder. The acoustics of the passage made it impossible to tell where it was coming from. Ayane guessed it might be in front of the, but she would soon see how wrong she was. The blob burst around the corner and took them by surprise as their backs were turned. "Ayane!" Helena screamed upon seeing the new adversary. Ayane reeled to face to blob, but it was too fast for them. It spat a jellied ball and Helena's right foot, rooting her in place with its adhesiveness. "Shit!" She attempted to pull herself free, but it did no good. "Hel-" Ayane tried to come to her aid, but she narrowly dodged a ball aimed at her own head. She had to step back to avoid the projectile, creating more distance between herself and Ayane. This small gap was all it took for the blob to rush the woman wearing the cat costume and begin devouring her.
"AAaaah! Not again!" Helena shrieked as it reabsorbed the gel on her foot and began swallowing her right leg. "Helena!" Ayane recovered and dashed to help the other woman, but a gelatinous tentacle shout out of the blob's head and wrapped around her neck in the blink of an eye. "Gahk!" She coughed as it squeezed the breath out of her, suspending her in the air above Helena. Ayane tried to pry the tentacle from around her throat, but it would take too long at this rate. I have to do something, Helena's going to become dinner for that thing unless I free myself... Her vision became blurry as she had only a small amount of air left.
Ayane
Health: 80% (0% modifier to chance to be devoured at current health state)
Entourage: Helena: 44% health (+16% modifier to any chance to be devoured at current health state)
Inventory: Nothing
A) Try to loosen the tenctacle's grip so she can slip free, Ayane really doesn't have another option at this point. She doesn't have much time left before she might pass out and Helena is seconds from becoming a morsel for the blob. Struggling could inadvertently divert its attention though. (55% chance of success, 75% chance of Ayane being devoured, 45% chance of Helena being devoured)
B) Use her last bit of breath to get Helena's attention, maybe the blonde woman's assistance would be enough to free her. Ayane would have to be swift though, Helena won't be able to reach her for long and the resulting effort could redouble the monster's attention toward Helena. (55% chance of success, 45% chance of Ayane being devoured, 75% chance of Helena being devoured)
The girls' luck has finally run out, they completely dodged the naga only to become morsels for a glorified piece of jello. Clayface will have to act fast if he wants to get here in time...
Don't forget to vote in the update, Clayface will need to take a course of action if he's to reach them. Becoming a snack for this blob equals instant digestion. Besides the rolls, the outcome of this scenario will be determined by what's chosen for Clayface.
