Ergo Proxy is probably one of the most under appreciated series of recent years. Sure, it's not one of the best but it certainly is one of the most unique(a sci-fi mindfuck, as someone put it
) It ranks up there with Ghost in the Shell: SAC and Paranoia Agent on my list of anime I'd watch over and over again.What makes me love this series so much is the interaction between the characters.
(if you have no idea of what I'm babbling about, go watch it. NAO)The personalities of Re-l, Vincent and Pino reminds me sooo much of my own characters- Sam, Lex, and Mia. Even their relationships and interactions with one another hit close to home. The episode mentioned above, Episode 16- where they're all basically well, busy doing nothing
is my absolute fave. 
On a last note, if I ever had a daughter I want her to be like Pino
(she doesn't have to be an android, tho)I wish I had more time to color this, but hope y'all still like!

astig! mahilig ka din pala sa ergo proxy. pero uu nga pansin ko hindi siya masyado pinapansin ng anime fans. Pero isa sa dabest na anime ang Ergo proxy para sa akin kasi interesting bawat episode.

Kasi yung appeal nya hindi para sa regular na anime fans. For one, kailangan mong magisip palagi(unlike sa usual na spoon-fed lagi ang viewer na bago magumpisa yung bawat bakbakan ikukuwento nya muna tanang buhay nya, paano sya naging ganun, paano namatay yung gerlpren nya, dahilan kung bakit di mo sya matatalo, etc etc)

I like how they act quite realistically and don't break character, like when they're irritated and p.o'd (especially Re-l) No stupefactions or SD moments unlike the usual anime.

Yeah, and I think she has the best introduction(actually the most disturbing) among all the characters. Seeing her all naked(if you can call that) and curled up in a fetal position with her spine exposed. You can't get more inhuman that that

Great lines as always. Have you tried Monster? It's an anime about psychology and how a person's mind works out. It's unique show and offers a lot... Great animation, character designs and storytelling.
Also one of the most under appreciated animes. I mean the show got released and licensed already since 2004 and I only watched it now? Why?!!!

I've heard of it, it's actually being shown in the local anime channel and it does sound interesting to watch. But I really hate the dubs here so I'm gonna look for the DVD instead.

I agree. Most dubs are horrible and unreliable. I just happened to watch it on crunchyroll because of boredom. I'm also planning to buy the DVDs too if I get the chance to.

Ergo Proxy was friggin cool. loved everything about it. That episode was the one I enjoyed the most too, though for some reason it felt the longest out of all of them too... all the better I say XD

I believe that was one of the goals of that episode- to make you feel like you've been watching it for an eternity, the same way how Re-l feels being stranded all that time
It's also interesting to note that everything is seen entirely from her point of view. You get to see that she's very analytical BUT quite narrow minded. All she sees are Vince's mistakes and weaknesses.
But then that's Re-l Mayer for you

hahah so true... but then she started warming up to vincent by observing him, eventually accepting him as a companion and even immitating vincent 's irrational way of calling the wind. That scene actiuallly made her cute in my opinion.
plus, definately loved the part where she did sit-ups using Pino as weight XD
