So, I've been kind of deadish lately when it comes to posting art or working on my comic. I haven't had any time. Remember how I was doing portfolio work? Well, it worked. I have a new job and I've been working really long hours for the last few months. It'll slow down here soon, but then it'll pick up again after September. It's a super fun job and I love it and the people I work with, but sadly I don't have as much free time as I used to. What free time I have had I've been spending on doll stuff and not drawings. :/ To be honest I've been nervous to pick one up. Some of the guys I work with are super talented artists, it's a bit intimidating!

You know, it's kind of sad, but a lot of it's luck. The guys that got hired with me are AMAZING artists. Holy shit. And they were telling me all the places that turned them down. These guys are so talented and most of the places they applied at didn't even give them a rejection letter.

Their experience is sadly the norm these days — not to mention the industry practice of being passed over in favor of unpaid interns, which later get the boot for fresh ones.

Wow! So exciting to hear about your new job! Are you able to talk about what you do exactly? Either way, I am way happy for you that you both found a job where you can use your talents and it it is a job you enjoy. Certainly can't feel guilty about something that you both enjoy and pays the bills.
