I should be in bed by now.Been mostly fine tuning her knees and legs. Also sculpted the most realistic tiny foot i've ever made.

Do you make customized dolls? and If you do, how much do you charge? I've been meaning to make all of my personal characters at ball jointed dolls, but they're just so expensive. Please and thank you!!!

I'm sorry, I don't make custom dolls! To sculpt a doll from scratch i would charge the same as a freelance sculptor, which I don't think is what you're looking for.
If what you're looking for is a doll to be painted, have an outfit made, ect... there's plenty of people on the net who do that kind of thing and their fees vary with skill and the time they have available. :3 Personally I think one of the most fun parts of owning a doll is customizing it myself and all the stuff I've learned from doing it.
On the other hand, there's also lots of other dolls sculptors on DA that might be able to give you what you need!

as of 2hrs ago you are my new hero. I love, love, love legs, they are one of the key factors I look at before I buy a BJD, if there is any akward part or just plain no realistic shape to them, then I will not be thrilled.
I really look forward to seeing your future work, especially if you make larger girls or even more styles of girls/guys. And hey, if you still have Lagoon in a few months I will very seriously consider purchasing her.

Time consuming, but it's one of those things anyone can do with practice. Art in general is something people can do with practice... some people need more practice than others but it's a skill that can be learned.

very cool! she looks very cute :3 How do you make your joints to fit? it seems hard to manage the way that it will stand on it's own

it's a lot of work and a lot of trial and error. it's the most tedious and frustrating part. :S what mostly happens is I scoop out the inside of the joint and then line it with plastic and fill it with paperclay. that paperclay part takes on the shape of the inside of the joint and I work from there smoothing and rounding.

I do on the resin junk cast when I refine it to become the new master. but I make the basic joints in paperclay.

...and her legs go ALL the way up!! Are you planning to elongate her neck and maybe torso, still? Also, I may be imagining it, but I think I see the beginnings of ears!!

I just tweaked the torso a little to make it longer, but her neck is already pretty long. If I make it any longer it looks strange from the side. I just fleshed her legs out a bit more and made them more curvy. We'll see if I like that better.
And yes! the beginnings of ears. I hate making ears.

Oh, WOW, she is looking AWESOME!
I think the bit I love the most is the sculpting of her throat and collarbones. They're details you don't see all that often, and they make her look very delicate and demure.

Wow, she poses so gracefully, even when held together just by rubber bands XD You know, on the left, with that lighting she looks really pouty, just like the plan picture, and it's just night-and-day a different expression from in the full-on lighting. Awesome! You've made one of those really expressive heads ^^
