Description Dirk's Store:

Well, I've already mentioned a lot of ideas if there were ever
to be a Sue and Louie videogame, and most of them included the words
"Dirk sells you things".  However, I never really explained the things
Dirk would sell, or the crass comments he would say, so I desided to do
this in a single deviation, just to get it all out of the way, making it
written so as to cover everything...(Also, this took a lot longer to write then you
might think it did... Just so we're clear.)

1) Butterflies

Dirk doesn't accept money, which is good cause you wouldn't find it in a
game starring Sue(I don't think I ever established what the insects use
as money anyway...). Instead, he accepts the traditional dragonfly happymeal
of Butterfly Wings.
So how do you get them?  Well, every once in a while, a butterfly would mosy
across the screen minding it's own business(kind of like in Battletoads with the
health flies- only bigger and more in the way.) and you'd mug them... Yes, MUG THEM.
They aren't fighters, so as soon as you start punching them, they'd try to make
a break for it- thus the better you are at pounding the crap out of innocent
creatures, the more you'd get...  Ok, you can say it now- I'm sick and twisted.
I should note that recently, I've also been considering the fact that since
butterfly wings have powder on them, they might have MORE uses for dragonflies
then just food... >cough... cocain equivilent... cough...<

2) Dirk's welcome phrases

"Welcome to Dirks Useless Crap Emporium."

"Make it quick, I'm being charged by the hour in the next room."

3) Dirks wares

a) Spot of Health: A single ladybug spot.  Sue's health would be measured in how
many spots she has, maximum of 6.  If you lose them all, you lose a life as well.
Spot of Health is available on sale if you don't wanna spend all those wings on
an extra life, or a full health bar.

Dirk might say when you buy it:
"THAT put ya back in the pink... red... whatever...(eyeroll.)"

b) KOed Aphid: Ladybugs ARE fierce preditors you know. During gameplay, you might see
a stalk of grass or a leaf with an aphid on it.  They DO try to get away from you, and
they can be pretty fast(Members of the Leafhopper family and all.), but if you catch
one and eat it, you'll fully recharge your life.  Dirk gives you the same deal here,
only he's already soften them up for you, so you don't have to break your neck trying
to catch them... Kind of like the Aphid Burger(see below) cept not an inventory item.

c) Aphid Burger: Sue's favorite anytime-snack.  Aphid burger gives you a full health
bar on the spot, AND it's an inventory item.  That's right, you can buy one of these
and save it until you really need it.  You also wouldn't find them outside Dirks shop
(Who just leaves food lieing around on the ground?) and you can only carry one at a
time.

d) Ladybird Bead: A red polkadotted bead (vaigly looking like a simple 3d ladybug
shaped talisman) that counts as an extra life.  Available both at Dirks and on the
open road, but a lot more easier to find here, just expensive as heck.

Dirk says when you buy it:
"Don't go wasting that thing on one of those 'one-hit death' things they always shove
into games like this."

e) "Fly away home" sause: Looks like a red gas can with a picture of a burning house.
(You know the old nursery rhyme : 'Your house is on child, your father will perm.'...
or...something like that... ) Gives Sue energy to fly.  Sue flies in the game, but
it requires this stuff to really take long trips with it.  She might just hover
momentarily when empty.

f) W.A. Beer: You might have noticed if you looked carefully enough, but every beer can
I've ever drawn Sue drinking out of is labled W.A.  If you don't know what THOSE letters
stand for, you won't understand it's effects.  Anyway, open a can of W.A., and Sue will
be temporarily invincable, able to rip anything that touches her a new one.  Another
inventory item only at Dirks- use it when you're really up a creek without a paddle.

g) Nyuki Soda: Louie's favorite drink.  He's just sitting there, helping you out,
waiting for you to get throught your adventure in one piece so he can go back to doing
all those boyfriendly things he does with you.  The least you can do for now is get him
a little treat... (Not saying where I'd be going here, but it wouldn't give you any
brownie points on ANYBODY'S chart to neglect the needs of a guy as sweet as Louie)

4) Can't Buy it phrases.

"Put yer food stamps away, you KNOw what I want..."

5)Goodbye Phrases:

"You're warrentees and recepts will self destruct in 10 seconds..."

"Don't sweat the petty stuff, and don't pet the sweaty stuff..."

"Later- time to snort the profits."

Now all you need is "Partyman" to be blaring over his loudspeakers as you shop around in his store.XD

You might be interested to know that due to a few jokes between Synduo and me, that I drew a pic of Dirk doing a parody of the MENSBEAM. Just a little something to look forward to.

LOL!!!
That would rock- specially if I ever give Dirk his OWN game... I'm thinking it would be like a cross between Contra (Only with swamps and deserts instead of jungle.)and a dating sim(Referancing Dirks history, since he fought in the Scorpion War.).

It's very good. Reminds me of what would actually be in a video game. The Lion King for Sega had similar types of items, due to the fact that you eat bugs. So, it reminds me of that game, just a little bit. I believe it was also released for a Nintendo system as well...It's just I've never found it for the Nintendo system yet.

Ah yes, the joys of working on a writing piece. I couldn't nap, due to the unbearable idea of the piece I'm working on having typos. It's actually at the point where it's finished and I could submit it.

Here's an idea, how about a different item to exchange for useful information? Like a mayfly? I've heard dragonflies eat mayflies.

lol at least Goodbye Phrase. :3

Glad you were able to put your ideas on text; they make an excellent read. I can assume this game is some sort of action/adventure? Because I assumed.

If I can make one suggestion, skip the whole life thing. Nobody likes them! You heard me, Life Concept? I don't like you!
