Description
Well, I'm not QUITE sure if I'm satisfied with it enough, but it works... I'm just not sure it's good enough to be a FINAL character sheet, hence the ?. If I need to, I'll change it later.Weasel T. Phox(The T doesn't stand for anything and never has.) is NOT a cute fox. He's an Aesop fox- his exact species is unknown, but I think he's some kind of desert fox! Being the only character I've got who was actually born on the island of Airizonia, Weasel was nevertheless, sent to Europe to be raised correctly in the ways of foxes before him. The complete fox education process revolves around outsmarting, avoiding, and ultimately robbing from humans, and their slightly less intelligent counterparts; the domesticated dog. However, while VERY successful in actually double-talking both the dogs into letting him by, and chickens into going into an empty burlap sack labled "Options Market" Weasel was never actually able to successfully get away with his booty in tow when it came to the humans. Several times, his siblings Jorwell and Quiz came back with large sacks of chickens while Weasel was lucky to escape with one.
Weasel after a while gave up in shame and moved on to the NEXT best thing to stealing chickens: Business/Politics. Here, he was able to hone in on his strength of talking, while ignoring his weakness of running away from guys with shotguns.
Since he graduated, Weasel has moved back to the country of his birth to rule as it's current president. His training has left him with an almost omnipotent view of how the system works, as well as an indifferent opinion of what happens to the little guys who the machine steps on. While he's not THAT evil, he DOES have a reputation as a total jerk wad, and the fact that his failure at the traditional fox training ruins his dating life makes him all the crueler when in a bad mood. Deep down, however- there is a small twinge of moral that keeps him from being tyrannical.
Weasel is normally very stone faced and calm. The only things that make him blow his cool are having to deal directly with idiots, or threats of physical harm to his tail. Despite his many MANY bouts with Mat, he actually thinks Mat has potential, and respects him for it... However, he's not going to make usurping him EASY just cause he LIKES him...

Good. Those diamond shaped eyes with no pupils give him an air of mystery.

No problem. All my fox characters wear some kind of glasses. It's mostly cause I've always thought fox eyes were rather intimidating and hypnotic, and since it's not polite to intimidate someone your speaking to, they wear the glasses to avoid that.

^_^ Yes!! He WILL take them off in certain situations; he's taken them off on Halloween as part of his costume, for example.
I also had a scene in a story where he's taking them off in preparation for going on a date, and Mat keeps on cracking jokes(Mat's intelligence makes him immune.) about how he never thought Weasel actually HAD eyes.

I wish I could make character sheets like this. XD Your style is so expressive.
Maybe instead of fake cigarettes, they could be something like Swisher Sweets, only grape-flavored?

Well, the name of the company that makes the candy cigerettes is called Sugar Stogies, besides- it's a much needed cliche to have the big guy in charge puffing on a cigar or cigerette.

Aesop gave me my love of foxes, and Weasel's kept it there all these years (He's the second oldest guy I got.).

Go for it, if you want I can give you some pointers on getting this together. Basically, just draw a front, side, and 45 degree angle shot of your character, and throw in some facial expressions and poses.
It also helps if you use a lot of seperate sheets of paper then edit it so they're all together (I draw the poses on one sheet, the faces on another, and all three angles each get their own page.)

that doesn't sound so hard. just maybe a tad time consuming, but worth it, to pretty much the entirety of the character. thanks for the tips, man.

Quite an interesting character that you have here. The mere mention of Aesop had my mind going through all of the different tales that I've heard that involved foxes.
Nicely done; thanks for sharing this info with us all.

I'm a big fan of Aesopian animals. To tell you the truth, there are ACRES of other minor jokes that link Weasel to Aesop- my favorite being that his cigar is fake and is grape flavored (Since that one fox gave up on the "Sour Grapes", foxes all over the world have had a secret craving for grape flavor- natural OR synthetic.)

DMajorBoss In reply to battybuddy [2007-04-02 05:35:20 +0000 UTC]
Ah, yes, I remember that one well. Having delved deeper into it at one point, I also heard that the line was "unripe grapes," as a suggestion that the Fox would come back later to gain the fruit. In that same sense, it could also mean that he'll return when they've grown a bit more, possibly hanging down a little lower for him to reach.
There could be possible sex references in that, but I won't go into it.
^_^
But, yeah, I understand well as to what you're saying.

LOL!!!
Never would have figured that, although Aesop DID live in Greece, and you know they were very expressive in those areas. I might be able to use that in a story sometime- where it turns out that foxes crave grape flavor cause it acts as an aphrodisiac for them or something.

Hmm...maybe a particular perfume has the aroma of fruit, the main tell being grapes. This perfume drives the fox crazy, increasing his desire to mate.
^_^
