The first lesson I learned in this world was that I am a monster.

King’s said it. Prophets did too. Knights and holy men called for my head...and I was barely old enough to even lift it.

It was always the same story. Some hero from some place for some reason, crusaded to take my life and the life of the one person who mattered to me.

Evil, they called us. They didn’t know the meaning of the word.

I taught it to them.

Kingdoms have come and gone since then. Some, I have ended.

Champions have come. I have found pleasure in their terror or shown mercy in the face of their courage. Some are now my Children. Most just became prey.

You never sought to take my life. But I have given it to you.

You never sought to take my heart. But I have given it to you.

You asked me only for one more moment. Now, I will ensure we have an eternity.
