this tutorial is extremely helpful. so far been the best one I've used yet. Really good in explanation, and flawless with the end result. Really impressive work too.

I dont feel safe with Superfine

Hey, this tutorial is great! I just got Bryce 5.5 (ha, torrent) and I learned a lot from this. Only question, when I go to put the material on the expanded sphere, I can only find the 'Mirrored Checkerboard', not just a Mirror Texture. Help?

Do you think it's becuase I'm using Bryce 5.5 as opposed to 5? If so, could you please export that material and send it to me? I'm having to use diamond, so it's got a somewhat textured bump in it.
Also, I use c4d and am doing your c4d tutorial right now, I'd just like to know one thing : I really want to know how to make an atmostphere with lighting, and I think you do that in the program. An example of what I'm talking about is on this deviation. If you could help me, the maker won't respond, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

i dunt have bryce anymore on my pc..
with the lighning, i use volumetric lighning, normal lights and hdri, the volumetric lights show of the light ray like in that one, but its also a lot of brushing in ps..
just add some lights around ur object with different strengths and with soft shadows, itt will give a good effect

Good tutorial, wish I had this when I started using Bryce
One thing though, and this will help cut down on resources used and rendering time: Set the sky so that there's no clouds, haze, fog, sun or moon, and delete the ground. Even if you don't see those things because of the sphere that you use, they're still being rendered, which will suck up Memory and CPU time that will be put to better use renderng the visible elements
