I know for a fact that lips can be super hard to draw, I still struggle with it. But the best way to learn is to study. Go into detail of real lips, and how others draw them. Here's some of my thoughts.

I think it could for any medium, after all it's nothing but a thought. You don't have to draw the 'heart' just imagine it, to get the propotions and shape right
