One hell of a fight right there. I love how you used the reality of Todd's nature here, it added a good effect to the fight. Especially Todd's moment of realization near the end.
Also, Nev wins the award for most resourceful use of apparel. That was seriously clever.

I always wonder... did a German solider ever actually, like, run out of ammo and lose his knife and kill someone with one of those helmet spikes? No... no probably not. Thus I must fill the void by stabbing acid shadow things with them.

I dunno if it's just a devil's advocate thing or what, but I am suddenly, utterly and completely convinced that someone, somewhere, in some situation, HAS used one of those helmets like that. Maybe it wasn't a German soldier, maybe it wasn't even on purpose, but I'm now convinced it must have happened at least once.
... And even if it didn't for real, Nev did it, and we all know that's what's really important XD
