I've been an illustrator and designer for a little over 10 years (professionally) so I've learned a lot of tricks over the years. For the spatter series I pretty much just sketch out an idea on paper then clean up the design in illustrator using my wacom tablet. This is done to get a nice clean silhouette before I throw the paint all over it. Using a vector based program means I can make the final image super high resolution so I can print it on many different mediums. After that I use either manga studio or photoshop for different paint style effects. Lots of layering and tweaking later I have a final product!
