My Father was a Man of the Earth
A Lover of all from the Day of his Birth
My Father was wise and Always Sharing
Never hiding His Love or His Caring
Always quick with Wit and never much Whining
Always seeing inside the Cloud to the Silver Lining
He Always had a Story to Tell
Stories I will Always Remember so Well
Now he has Passed to a Better Place
With a Gleam in His Eye and a Smile on His Face
Being with God there is no Hurt, no Pain
The Love for My Father I will Never Restrain
He taught Me to be Honest and True
My Father, My Friend, I Will Miss You
In My Heart you Will Always Be
Along with Everything you Ever Taught Me
God has Taken You from this Place
For You to look Upon His Face
And now the Father has become the Son
Your Spirit and Mine travel the rest of Life as One
My Father, My Teacher, My Friend

I also wrote about my old man after he passed away. It was a tough time for my family as my dad and two of his brothers all passed away in a 9 month period. I guess the brothers were all destined to be together forever in live and after.
