Conker's Bad Fur Day is likely the best N64 game on the market (despite the awesomeness of both Zeldas, the Mario games, and 007). The only game that can really compare is banjo tooie and maybe DK64. Makes sense though, all were made by Rare. All three of them have awesome soundtracks, and even better gameplay. But, where conker shines above the other two is in story. You play as Conker, a rude and crude squirrel who, at the very beginning of the game, is revealed to be king of all the land.

The entire game is a recount of how you came to be in this position, and what a story it is. It makes references to all sorts of games and movies, it changes gameplay styles between chapters (from platformer, to shooter, to puzzle game, to swimming/flying game). As you play through the game, you sort of get lost in the wackiness and obscenity. But, as you approach the end, things start to get more and more serious, until the point that a deep feeling of losing everything is achieved, which hits a deep chord. Don't even get me started on the multiplayer, which is also arguably the best the N64 has to offer. If you haven't played this game, and can tolerate mature rated immature games, it is well worth the play through; and, if you have, I commend you on the awesome childhood!
