Legos in general were awesome; you could build anything your little heart desired, tear it apart, and build something better. Bionicles on the other hand were shear epicness. You'd buy them as separate heroes and villains, and they'd fuse into bigger badder heroes and villains. On top of that, whenever you didn't feel like following the instruction book, you could use their pieces to build them into whatever you wanted as well; and, almost no matter how poorly crafted it was, it looked cool because it was made of these awesome pieces with a bunch of random grooves and rivets in them. If you did know what you were doing though, you could build stuff that not only looked cool but did wicked stuff to boot! Why, I once built an entire upper body out of Bionicle pieces (made to actual scale) including two arms with fully functioning hands, fingers, thumbs, wrists, elbows and shoulders, spine, neck, jaw and eyebrows! I was going to make a full body Bionicle person but I didn't have enough pieces. D: Regardless, Bionicles were the bomb back in the day, and I could spend all day just building them and playing with them. Not to mention that free game on the site was pretty radical as well!
