After working on some concept art I decided to go get some coffee and sketch. Originally I was going to do some sketches of a character for a friend's project, but I wasn't feeling it. And this kind of just appeared. And as I sketched the head, I added parts just for fun and this came out. It was fun to just draw without a plan and then try to clean it up and make it work. I'll have to try this more often.Related content

hey josh,
i'm still here, just been super busy with freelance. I am doing freelance character designs for a company that proposes video game concepts to actual video game companies. Don't know if they will ever get made, but it pays...though I'm still waiting on getting this next check. hmm.. and i'm applying for a position as a Story Artist at Pixar, which I will send off tomorrow. And I'm trying to do a 5 page try out for a comic company called Oni Press, but it's taking a while, I've had to run around and it's kind of a struggle to just get work done. but i'm chuggin' away. how's the job at Microsoft? tell me all about it.

go to [link] that's the game I'm working on, I might be on that page soon cause i was 1 of the first 2 people to ever play the game in use as a competition we had in the team test area. I posted a fast lap time and I had to compete against the other guy for a porsche team racing shirt. he won, but it was close. I wrecked my car last week. so now i ride the bus for 3 hours every morning, then 3 hours every night to get to work and back in redmond. it sux ass. if it were any other job I'd look for something else. but I love what I'm doing. anyway, good luck with pixar, that would be an awesome job for you man. talk to you later.

I like to look at Travis Charest and Bryan Hitch's work and also Adam Hughes when he draws robots. They always give me good ideas....especially Charest. Just add lots of details from any sort of technical looking thing and it all works.
