Description
Threw some color on a sketchbook thing. A portrait of one of the scavenger-y Infernal Heralds. Much like carrion birds, they hover around the front lines waiting for carnage, lip-fingers rippling in a constant languid motion that resembles centipede legs. They are lightweights, cowardly, flighty, squabble-y. They wolf down corpses and strain the putrid juices back through their face holes. They're only interested in the husks.Related content

Amazing work. The clouds certainly add a whole lot to the artwork. And the slight reflection of the flames on his/her/its neck giving it a slight orange tint is very nice ^^
I spent a bit too much time looking at it and have to ask though. There's a small black dot above his face hole with the fluids oozing out. I assume it's a drop of blood but it feels a bit out of place there when considering gravity. Thought it could be a small floating piece of ash too but with the wind seemingly blowing to the left that would seem off too. And yes, I know this is nitpicking over one single dot. But I had to find SOMETHING to give feedback on didn't I?

It's a super cool picture, and it looks amazing, but... those teeth. They would catch on one another and stop it opening it's mouth.

They're fingers/nails, and actually quite mobile! Its real teeth are inside. Futility is also a major theme of the Infernal Plane.

I really need to try focusing on textureΒ details like yours when doing my creature designs. This Infernal Herald is gruesome but all of the intricacies make it fascinating to look at.
If you ever put out an art book of your monsters/creatures, you can count on me buying a copy!

The imagery of them straining the juices is just...wow. Dunno how you come up with this stuff, but it makes for some awesome world imagining. Not to mention beautiful artwork.
