Description
Glide Timber's start in her 4 year old season was successful and promising. She began it by winning her first race a full eight lengths ahead of the pack, and her coat flashed near to gold with the unnecessary finish picture. She continued on to win with ease, her eyes sparking with lively energy and the eager to unleash her power of running. It was a few months down her 4-year-old career when it started to go downhill. She finished 4th in a race she would have normally won without all of her effort, and yet at the end she had stopped running with her normal vigor. She was barely sweating at the end, though her eyes lost their sparkle and she was eager to get away from the track. Smoky Ridge was worried, but a glimmer of her old self appeared as she practiced at home in the cool mornings, and a spark of hope came into our hearts. But at her next race, and ambled home 6th, content to be surrounded by other horses and have several horses' tails swishing in front of her.
And so, she was scratched from her next race and officially retired. As she began to realize she wasn't racing anymore, the sparkle in her eye came back and her independent attitude came out again.
One morning, when the grass was sparkling with dew and the sun was a warm blur behind calm, pink clouds, she was led to the pasture and let out to stretch her legs without racing silks and tack. She trotted forward, eager to run, and swept into a swift and graceful gallop, stretching out with her mane flying and coat rippling with muscle. Though her racing season was somewhat disappointing, Smoky Ridge was happy to see their beloved filly happy again.

Aw, this is gorgeous. I'm glad to see that her fire is slowly coming back! Here's hoping that she'll be a successful broodmare.

Thank you! She is indeed fiery, I'm sure she'll pass it onto her gorgeous foals! And I'm so excited, her first foal is being sired by Summertime!
