Yeah, I had babies & toddlers destroy property of mine. One fellow caused over $5,000 in damage. When I used to work in a court as a file clerk, I know of a judge who took important files to review back home, his 4 year old destroyed them all. Along with some important subpenaed documents.
I just could stop laughing when I saw the damaged files, looking for anything that could be salvaged. The doodles he drew on them! I'm laughing right now!Β

In the comics and books, Cadence's back story is, she was born a pegasus...Β Β She learned the magic of love and friendship at a very young age and impressed Celestia...Β much like twilight she earned her horn to become an alicorn.

Speaking of turning into alicorns, I think Fluttershy should have earned princessifying. She tamed a monster of chaos!!! All the elements could do was turn Discord to stone! What did Twilight do? She only completed a spell! Really? Celestia, your priorities are out of order. XD

Yes, she did, and I'm sure that there are a few other ponies in Equestria that have the skill to create spells. And any pony, giving the time and effort, can understand friendship. So why would she pick Twilight? I understand that she is her student, but she probably knows more than one unicorn with a skill in learning and casting magic.

But, I think you also need to be able to perform an elemental magic. (Something in nature, Friendship, Love, etc.) You don't have to just understand Friendship, you just need to understand some elemental form of magic. (Cadence didn't create new magic, she just understood, on a deep and profound level, the magic of Love and how it could help ponies.)
