Don't be silly. Green indicates belonging to an entirely separate species which you refer to as "female" because you refuse to admit your species reproduces parasitically.
That may be my favorite thing about the Puppeteers. They insist they are species where there are three genders, two of which are referred to as male in English, but the females are non-sapient and have a separate system of reproduction that always produces females, while reproduction with all three genders always results in one of the two types of males.
