This doodle was spawned by the art contest my friend *foudroyant here on DA is having, the theme is 'Swords Crossed' and naturally a Star Wars lightsaber battle (and an Expanded Universe one at that) was the first thing that popped into my little brain!!! How predictable of me
In case you can't tell this is Luke Skywalker taking on Darth Caedus/ Jacen Solo (or as I like to call him Darth Stupid/Vader lite) It depicts what I hope to see happen in the concluding LOTF novel 'Invincible'-a book I believe will either redeem the dreadfully depressing events of the whole series or will send it plummeting even further into the dark abyss of ruining my favorite universe and all the characters in it. Hope everyone likes the Line art so far

Awesome!! we can see the opposition between the dark side and the ligth side, with the colors of the caracters, I like a lot the details of their clothes!!

AACK is right my friend. The details and ridiculous undertaking I inflicted on myself with this piece were most certainly AACK! But I painfully stuck with it and finished it which was an absolute miracle. But I had finish since I had an actual deadline to meet with it being for a contest, so I was motivated to keep going beyond the point of having to pick my arm up off the floor and super glue it back on to my shoulder *wink* I suppose I just need more official deadlines for my art like a contest or better yet turning in an assignment like I had to do in my college art classes. I think then I would have a lot more completed works. The other unfortunate factor contributing to my lack of commitment to finishing pieces is that I have carpool tunnel in my right wrist, a really, really bad case of it too (actually had to have surgery on it a few years back-boy that was fun-yuck!) so I can't go for as long a time drawing as I once could. But at least I didn't loose my ability to draw all together which could have been the outcome if something went wrong during the surgery (lost some sleep thinking about that happening-thats for sure).
Anyhoot now that I've rambled on incessantly let me thank you as always for your generous praise and earnest interest in my work. It really makes my day every time I have a comment waiting from you. Your praise, friendship and pointers are invaluable to me. Thank you so much my friend.

I'm so sorry to hear about your carpal tunnel problem! That must REALLY be a bugger when you're inspired to draw and it gets painful! And it makes epic pieces like this one even more impressive, to know that you work under difficulty... Much respect!

Hey! Finally an impressive picture! I love it that much! Jacen has black clothes and Luke white? This is great, it shows the message af Luke thinking clear and Jacen being full of hate more than the line art. And the dark background fills me with fear. I`m glad that there is Luke. really a light in all the darkness.

This is a really nice "collage" you've put together. I haven't read that far into the series yet. I didn't get into it until recently. But it's nice to see such a piece come to life. It's sad that Luke would have to battle his own nephew. Great subject, and very nicely done. Good luck in the contest!

I haven't read as far as 'Invincible' (book 9 in the series) either since it won't come out till next year but I just picked up my copy of 'Fury' (book 7 that just came out today!!!) so don't worry you have plenty of time to get caught up

Gosh, I'm still reading the earlier ones. The stories that take place between and after episodes 4, 5 and 6. I just love reading the stories of Han, Leia and Luke.

Yup, I'm actually enjoying reading the further adventures of the famous trio. I just got done with "The New Rebellion". I thought that had a great story line. I try to read the books in order, but that doesn't always happen.

I get the chills when I look at it -- the emotions just pour through it and hit me hard. I can't stop scrolling back up to take a look at it! I love the touch of colour you added with the lightsabers, it adds so much more to the dramatic feeling of this piece... *pause -- scrolls back up again* I'm not sure what else to say, but that I love it and that I wish you good luck to the contest!

As far as the size....This isn't the exact size but it's fairly close. I do all my art on 18x24 size paper thus the reason why finishing anything takes me FOREVER and practically kills me to do
