And a case for keeping pilots a thing in my living vehicle world lol

Here we have Sam coming into Kai Tak's infamous Instrument Guidance System approach(AKA the Checkerboard Approach) into runway 13 back in 1995. She was in her last week of her many months of training. In the training period she'd have senior pilots and FAs, in the addition of the older 747-200s, guiding her on the know-hows of being an airliner. As for her finale of her training, they decide to 'treat' her for a landing into Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong.

Even to the most experienced of planes and pilots, the approach into Kai Tak is anything but a piece of cake. They have to ensure they start the turn exactly on time and also ensure the bank angle is in the right angle. Additionally, the hills nearby are not helping as they can bring pretty turbulent winds and Hong Kong is also not a stranger to stormy weathers.

No wonder she looks so nervous here to the point her yoke and headrests seem to be shivering. And those belts are probably very tight.

Good thing she's in good hands.

Okay now I am very proud of this drawing X3. I actually also wanted to do this back in August but stuff and commissions got in the way lol XP. Also happy to draw Garuda's ole 1985-2009 blue Landor livery. It really feels nostalgic seeing it since I also flew on them when this livery was still a thing way into 2011 heheheh
