I just think it's really lovely and special...I fully intend on taking Janet's courses when the budget will allow. Work like this is one of the best advertisements she could have!

Thanks for the great comment Markus...this assignment is proving a little more of a challenge than I thought.
I've sent you a note about the classes.

This is so awesome! That grayscale assignment really sucked for me. I had such a hard time with it.

Thank you! I'm finding this a little bit of a challenge too...I waaaanna do color!
Any good advise from Janet when you took the class?
I checked this with Photoshop's histogram and it's a bit heavy on the shadows but when I try to lighten it it just looks washed out.

I think the washed out look is awesome here!
I just had such a hard time with the gradient setups. I think she presented in a way that didn't quite click with me. I had been doing grayscale on my own for a while and I had my own set ways of doing it. It was frustrating for me. Janet asked me what could have helped me improve, and I told her my frustrations. She's a good listener.

Very pretty, Kim, and the frame looks great! I like the way you used it to create a shadow and a 3d look.

Thank you Anna...I did have a thin line originally (thanks agian for the help ) but it didn't seem substantial enough so I played with the gradient some more... I like the added black and dimension that comes from the frame now....there still seems to be something missing...like the white and black on the main shape could "pop" a bit more. I played with the color for hours and this is the best I could get. Oh well
