I would love to see a female Link in a future game. Link is a very unique character in which I believe that either a male or female Link will always work. Nothing is ever established with Link, just his clothing design and a small portion of personality (such as his iconic grunts and yelps). We as the players are Link, and it definitely shows in every single Zelda game out there.
There's not even a romantic bond between Link and Zelda, which makes having Link be a female even less "Hyrule-shattering."
It would be really cool to see what Nintendo could do with a female Lonk

Cool, I find it cool to have a fem link in the game, like choose a gender for your character or something like Mass Effect or something. Love to see Nintendo try this someday.

I seriously would prefer it if Link was a girl or if you could play as Zelda. Aside from toon link, I think his character can be a bit of a snoozefest overall.
